Meet the Counselor
My name is James Funkhouser, and I am your school counselor here at Emma K Doub.
I work with teachers, administrators, community members, parents, and students to create a comprehensive program that develops three areas, academics, career, and personal/social .
At Bridgewater college, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion with a minor in Theatre. After which, I studied at McDaniel College where I received my Master of Science in Counseling.
I have had a long history of working with children. From Shepherd's Spring camp center in Sharpsburg to Rock Creek School in Frederick, my passion for children has grown.
My wife and I currently live in Jefferson where I enjoy playing my guitar, gardening, and biking.
I look forward to working with our parents, students, staff, and community members here at Emma K Doub.
